Environmental Activities within the Community
03/08/2007
In October 2005 the Oki Group established the ‘Oki Group Charter of Corporate Conduct’, to communicate its principles for corporate conduct.
The organisation is striving to fulfil its corporate social responsibilities to its stakeholders, which include: customers; shareholders and investors; business partners; local communities; and employees.
Responding to the environment is an extremely important corporate principle for the Oki Group. Without a sustained global environment, corporate activities cannot be maintained nor can they grow. The CSR Promotion Division is actively working to provide environmental actions and responses that give peace of mind to everyone in the local communities where it operates, as well as its customers.
Environmental education
Employees at all of OKI Printing Solutions' production facilities, sales and management offices are encouraged to save resources, energy and reduce industrial waste. This is communicated via an extensive education programme which briefs staff on environmental concepts and how to be more ecologically aware as individuals.
At the Cumbernauld facility all staff have access to an Environmental Management Manual which is available online and on environmental notice boards in the production facility. It gives staff easy access to the company's green objectives and targets. Staff in the Cumbernauld facility also receive online training and a monthly environmental newsletter, featuring green news from around the world.
All staff and new recruits at Cumbernauld receive environmental awareness training which includes the Environmental and Energy Policies, the major environmental impacts of the facility's activities and an introduction to the Environmental Management System.
Philanthropic activities
OKI Printing Solutions' global charity is Save the Children and the company donates substantial sums each year as part of its commitment to a brighter future for tomorrow's generations.
As part of the support for this international charity, OKI Printing Solutions has committed to donating an amount per tonne of consumables recycled, as part of its collection and recycling scheme. This will equate to thousands of Euros each year and means the recycling efforts are set to benefit future generations two-fold.
